cool head dome

Anybody ever seen a cool head dome that when installed in the shell the dome didn't touch the shell around the edges?    There is about a 1/16" gap between the outside dome edge and shell all the way around.  A guy at work has a cool head he just bought for his 250r and it was like this.  Wish I could have got a pic but the area I work in we get fired for taking any kind of pictures.

If it is new, call Cool Head and ask them if they sent a dome for another engine or the shell may have been made when the wrong diameter mill was used in the tool changer.

It was bought used off ebay.  He said he put the head on lastnight and started it this morning and it ran fine.  He let it warm up and retorqued the nuts.  He is bringing me the dome that came with the shell.  It fit in the shell right so im going to compair it to the chamber on a stock head.  Thinking it may be a big bore cool head.

Just a little update.........I've got the dome that came with the head.  The chamber does look bigger than the chamber on a stock head.  I'm about to go down in the basement and measure it.  He ran a compression check after the warm up and torqueing the head nuts again and came up with 187.  Pretty decent numbers on a original 1985 bore.

Just measure the dome...........71.931.  So I would say it is a big bore cool head.
