Finally, I have a video that is decent enough to show. I will certainly upload more details shortly but for now, enjoy this video from my 1st moto this weekend at Phenix City MX.
(I am the one second to the left on your screen on the starting gate). More details soon.

Good race Ryan! It looked like soup city out there in a few corners. I see a few things that may help you we will discuss. How was the quad running? Was it breaking up at all?

It was a bit nasty to say the least. They were parts of the track that were pretty fun though. ALOT of the track was wet and it was hard to find traction.
1st Moto: 4th of 7
2nd Moto: 6th of 7

1st moto I started out in 3rd place. There were some things that other guys were jumping that I wasn't. I still have no confidence in my suspension and probably won't until I get an aftermarket rear shock and my front shocks re-sprung. So I drifted back to 5th place. The 2 guys close in front of me got tangled up together so I passed both of them back and stayed in 3rd most of the race. One of the guys got going again, but was a ways back. I got 10 seconds from the finish line and got sucked into some super deep mud and almost came to a complete stop! I was so pissed! I was hitting every gear I could find to try to get me going again before he caught up, but it was futile.

2nd moto: I come off the gate in 4th. I got plastered by a wall of water, mud, and sand right through the first turn! Luckily I use the goggles that have the long roller film system so I was able to quickly see again. Things went pretty good, but I was starting wear down as I had been bottoming out on multilple jumps from the first race and this one. That and I almost came off the quad in the 1st moto. Give you a hint, you can see it around minute 8:35. Luckily my buddy didn't capture most of my bobble, but I dang sure remember it. LOL. It was the last lap and I had about 4 turns to the finish line, i was coming around this one spot that was holding water. I hit is wide open like I had been and tried my best to steer the front. Everything is going well and I'm headed in the right direction, when all of a sudden the mud on the right starts sucking me in. I do everything possible to steer left but it was like a magnet! I was almost to the mud burm when I said screw it, I'll just go up and over it, pop off the track and pop back on. So.........it didn't exactly work like that. Once my front wheels went over the burm, it sinks in my rear tires and nose dives the front! My bumper leans over and kisses the ground. I am stuck in the mud, leaning straight up and down with my bumper on the ground and me clinging for dear life like a cat above water? I hang there froze stiff while my quad in doing a handstand! I hung like that for about 10 seconds straight up and down trying not to move so I don't go face first into the mud with my quad following. My quad is teetering back and forth trying to decide whether it wants to go back on it's wheels and land on me. LOL. I tilt my helmet forward and then sling it back into the seat. The quad starts leaning to it pops back onto it wheels. I reach over and pull out the kickstart. It's stuck closed! I try frantically to pull the kicker out but it's stuck shut from all the mud. I beat and hit and curse it and talk dirty to it, nothing. still won't come out. I finally saw the last guy go by me while I am still trying to get the kicker out. I finally get the kicker out as the last guy takes the flag.
On a side note: I got roosted so bad on that first turn, my radiator was solid much when I finished the race. There was not one single clear fin on it. My temp gauge was pushing 235-240°. But she finished the race!

So there ya have it. Never a boring day at the races! LOL

Good job finishing it out. I bet that track is killer when it's prepped and has had good weather.

I think so as well zcarlson. It looked to be a really cool track. It would have ran very differently without all the water, lol. Plus, the dirtbikes ran practice that morning before our race and they weren't able to re-prep the track. That is why you see 1.5 ft deep ruts in some of the corners. Frickin' dirtbikes! Unfortunately, that is the only time we will be at that track this season. However, we will be going to another one twice this year that is very similar. They call it Monster Mountain.

I hear you on the ruts from the db's. The last race I had at Podium One was a Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier for bikes so there were 400 bikes and 7 quads. Every corner had at least 8 ruts and they were all 2-3 feet deep. I almost lost it a few times getting the front wheel sucked into them but it's all about line choice at that point. Monster Mountain is awesome from what I've heard. A lot of the people I used to ride with from Ohio would go there every year in the winter to train.

Our season finale was at Monster Mountain last year. It was pretty awesome. They have a great mixture of terrain and elevation changes.
