Hello everybody, my name is Ron.  I have been riding 250Rs since 2003.  My first one was a 1986 TRX250R.  I bought a 1985 ATC250R back in 2008, that bike was a lot of fun!  I sold both of them in 2010, and I regretted everyday.  I just didn't have time to ride anymore.  I recently got the bug back and I have been saying for the last 3 years that when I get a new bike, it's going to be a 4-stroke.  Well, I guess old habits die hard and when it came time to put my money where my mouth was, I ended up buying a 1989 TRX250R.  It has an ESR TRX5R pipe, V-Force 3 reeds, and a K&N air filter.  I'm glad to be a part of a 250R-specific forum as I have a tremendous passion for these machines.  I look forward to interacting with fellow 250R nuts on here!

Welcome, your setup sounds like my old one. Have you thought about sending that cylinder off to get ported. My stock cylinder setup ran good.

Yeah, that will probably be my next step.  I had my 1986 TRX250R ported by Denny at Flotek Performance, but I'm not sure who I would have do this one.  It's not necessarily that I was unhappy with the bike, but it seems to me he specializes in the Yamaha 2-strokes.  I haven't heard about too many 250R specialists besides the big-name builders.  Of course, I have been away from the scene for a couple of years now, so maybe a new builder has popped up.
