What is the secret to seal a o ring head? Need help please

The correct size o-rings usually works.

Clean the o-ring groves, lay the correct o-rings in the grooves in the cylinder and bolt on the head. If it leaks past the o-rings you have the wrong o-rings or the O-ring groves are not cut to spec.

DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON THE O-RINGS OTHER THAN GREASE TO HOLD THEM IN PLACE FOR INSTALLATION!!!!

If it leaks around the head nuts, use acorn nuts with copper washers. If it leaks past the acorn nuts and copper washers, the surface of the head where the copper washers seats, needs machined.

The outer oring doesn't fit . It keep come out of the grove. So how do you know it you have the correct ones. Who do I get them from?

Some guys put a little tranny fluid on the outer oring to let it relax and fit. I have had to use a thin piece up metal to hold the oring down while slipping the head on. Some air oil stores have you bring the cylinder or head (which ever the groves are cut in) down to measure and give you the correct size.Like Jerry said you can use a little grease or o-ring lube to get it to stay in place.

You can also stretch out the o-ring a liitte. A few tugs with both hands is just enough to lay her in there, while you install some head! :shame:

Fred is correct, many times you have to gently stretch a oring to correctly lay in a groove

I usually just order them from ESR
