Do ESR pipes and silencers mount directly to the frame instead of using the rubber exhaust mounts? I'm having some trouble mounting up a TRX5 standard mount pipe and silencer. It looks like the holes in the silencer line up directly with the frame like the rubber exhaust mounts aren't supposed to be used. Those guys running these pipes and silencers, do y'all run the rubber exhaust mounts or no? Does it not cause more vibration is you don't use them? Please post pics of how you mounted your ESR pipe if you have them. Thanks.

I had the same problem, so I just mounted it to the frame.  Its worked fine for the last couple years.  If I remember correctly, other had done the same when I researched the subject.

It was mounted directly to the frame on mine.  That aluminum spacer in the box was on the rear most mount on the silencer.

Does mounting it directly to the frame not cause additional vibrations?

The pipe itself is made to be used with an oem mount. Simular to this.

On the std mount silencer it may go solid with spacer top and oem front..... Dont recall at the moment and the silencer mounting may have changed over the years and maybe it hasn't lol.

Yeah, I'm familiar with this mount on the pipe. I'm just wondering how you mount the silencer with rubber mounts or if it supposed to mount directly to the frame. It looks like it is supposed to mount directly to the frame. But I'm concerned about this creating additional vibrations. Can anyone say for sure?

The above is the one that really saves the vibes and imo there should be a simular setup on all pipes using an oem or oem type mount. On the silencer I would just mount it as it was intended.

Thanks for the input guys. I will give it a try and mount the silencer to the frame and see if it adds more vibrations or not.

Etccb. Did you put the bend in the expansion mount, or was it like that when you got it? The pipe I just bought that mount is straight. .

That is how I got it sanddad. That photo was taken of a center mount 5. I don't know how the bracket has possibly changed over time or type to type but esr has always used an oem mount down there.

ya all the center mounts go straight to the subframe with the bracket, and my led silencer lines up perfectly with the mount hole, it only makes sense, that in order to be able to use a rubber mount the moutning hole for the silencer would be offset so to line up to the rubber mount.
