Air leak

Any one use 3 bond on the crankcase gasket, got an ever so slight leak at the gasket. Just buttoning up the rebuild but I have bubbles. Holding at 1/2 lb. loss at 10 min but like I say, when I spray it down I see bubbles. Got it to torqued right

I use 1211 before assembly. Only a very light coat. If any squishes out when tightening, I used too much. Sounds like you have a low spot or a gouge on the surfaces. I'd flat plate them.  Good luck

Just like what 2nd moto said about flat plating them. These cases are very old and many have been assembled and taken apart many times. They get chips and and gouges from time to time. If you can flat ground them, that is good to do. I use 3 bond 1211 on virtually every gasket. Could this be overkill? Yes. Have I had a single air leak since doing this practice? No. Like you are running into now, it really sucks to have to take it apart again at the point you are at. So a little 3 bond in there to guarantee that the gaskets seal is well worth the effort. And like 2nd moto said, it doesn't take much.
