Want to buy 1988 $4500-$8000
« on: June 04, 2016, 12:02:06 AM »
Looking for my unicorn to be shipped to Portland, Oregon:

1988 with lights preferred, could be a newer aftermarket frame or maybe an '89
Has a title
Quality suspension - Pep or Axis preferred
If no lights want the CR ignition
Under 300cc ported, pump gas, just healthy not wild
Keihin or smart carb
Stock look with some extra billet would be nice
motor rebuilt or priced accordingly.
Most of all: known history from a knowledgable seller, this is more important than anything else.

I have owned no less than 12 250r's over the years, not my first rodeo.  The one that sold a couple months ago for $5,800 and was on this site has set the bar for me and I have cried myself to sleep a couple times for missing it.

Thanks for your time!

Awfully kind offer.  I keep a stash of sand toys in Hillsboro, Oregon and live in Alaska.  We'll be down in a couple weeks to try St Anthonys.  I just sold a long travel Serval Cub Banshee that Cam at Redline built claiming mid 90's for hp.  I did wild now I want to go back to mild but with some plush suspension and geometry updates.  I'm getting old!

This is as cast puma nice and tame 88 with a Ti swingarm from JDI and updated jockey weight suspension not a drag bike but a blast to ride and comfortable. I'd be more then happy to help you out as well as many of the guys around the area.

Appreciate it but I am not after a high compression big bore with a plus 5 swinger, saw it in the latest vid.  This is what I'm after, anything classic stock looking with modern Moto inspired upgrades:

The tank can go and I'd really like to see the stock headlight but this is the idea.  Ported, pump gas small bore would be ideal.  I've been down the stuff a cr500 motor in road; vibration, cracked radiators and eventually frame.  visited high hp banshee land where no matter your lean and turn you hit throttle it goes straight and wheelies, done the high compression big bore R that kicked me back so damn hard my ankle was smoked and the weekend ended.  I just want to slide the worm trails with wife and old man, after I've scoped and hit every jump on my main ride; 2 wheels.
