« on: September 06, 2013, 03:40:45 PM »
I have an 88 250r motor and and 85 atc 250r motor I was curious what motor I should put my esr 310 big bore the 85 has a boysen rad valve hotrods short and the 88 has oem long rod vforce3 reed setup  I know I'm going to put the 310 in my quad but I was curious if I should just swap the top end on my quad to the three wheeler or just completely swap the motors

Pick the better of the 2 I'd say
1986 R
260cc oem cylinder
tc ported
38mm as carb
boyseen reeds
Ohlins front shocks
redone oem rear shock
93 pump fuel
cool head inline temp gauge

I know the ct ported stock cylinder is definitely going on my three wheeler but I don't know if there is much of a difference between the two rods and instead of swapping top ends just swap motors

I agree, the 88 is the better choice IMO but I have seen short rod 310's run very strong and be reliable
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.
