Well, I drive a tractor trailer for a living and I fully admit I have trucker mouth.
But, when I am dealing with my customers, I turn it off. I just don't feel it's acting in a professional manner to use profanity in business dealings. All by myself in the cab of my truck, when things make me mad, the flood gates sometimes get flung wide open.
Same thing when I am home around my kids, who are 9 and 5 years old. Yes, the milder bad language gets out in front of them. And only VERY VERY rarely in extreme situations I let a more serious word slip in front of them. Same when I'm around my Mom.
When I am conversing with people here on forums, I like to present myself in a respectful manner. It's not that I am trying to hide who I am, or hide the fact that when nobody is around I don't mind my tongue. It's just the way I was raised. Using good manners and respect goes a long way in my opinion.....
I guess in a way, I think that if we all mind our tongues in what we post, it puts out a much better image of who we are. Personally, I would rather be seen as a respectable adult, than a foul mouthed kid. And to be honest, when I see postings with alot of nonsensical swearing in it, the first thing that comes to my mind is "disrespectful kid, who doesn't deserve to be taken seriously".
