Please call me. I think that combination is a great idea.
Thanks for taking time out of your day and talking with me Arlan, and hopefully we can do a engine in the coming future. Have a good one and keep up the good work sir.

My experience with the LRD pipe on about 3 or 4 motors is this, it is a fantastic woods pipe and i love it in everything from technical to fast open trails. Not so good for apllications wanting focus on top end. As far as bottom-mid i have been completely happy. I would not hesitate to use this pipe on a gncc R!

We have stampings for LT 500 pipes. We just need a quad to fit them so we can build fixtures.

I'll spread the word to my zilla forum and see if anyone is nearby!

Can you compare the LRD pipe to your LED pipe? As why should one buy the LED over the old LRD or why one should go with the LRD over the LED.

They are very close. The LED pipe is hand coned and is the C version that I built in 1998 or 99. The C pipe is similar to the B, but adds a little more top end. We do not plan to build the LED 250C pipe except for special order untill the 250B stamping are all gone. The C was the next revision of the B pipe, but never went into production untill I built a few of then starting in 2008.
Hand cone pipes are very labor intensive to build. They generally make more power than stampings.
The LRD 350 D pipe is a very good pipe also. The newer LED 350G pipe has a bigger head pipe and a fatter center section. The muffler is different also. We use a nozzle system in the muffler to more precisely control exhaust temperature in the pipe. The Hand coned LED pipe makes more peak hp than the old 350D but not enough to justify buying it if you have a good 350 d pipe on your Quad. The LED muffler would increase the power if you added it to the D pipe.

Here are some pictures of the pipe mounted in the frame. Shipping is usually around $20.

Because the FMF pipe starts making power later it does not accelerate as well as the the LRD/LED Exhaust. For example on dyno test done with the Niks 250 PV engine the FMF pipe made about 10 hp less at 6000 rpm. The sparks MX pipe also made about 8 hp less. At 7000 rpm the the LRD pipe leads the FMF by about 7 hp. At 7500 rpm the LRD leads by about 6 hp. Comparing peak hp the LRD made a little over 2 hp more than the FMF. The FMF reved out farther. The FMF peaked about 400 rpm later.
This test was done in 2001 on a 265 PV engine I did for Keith Little. This was when we were doing engines for the Nac's team. Because I was focused on acceleration we concentrated on the low and mid range power. As the season progressed we increased the top end power and rev out so the engine would rev and peak at a higher rpm when retaining the same great acceleration. We would slightly alter the port timing for different tracks.
These test were done with exhaust port timing set with gate valve up of 192'. the sub ports were lower and the highest transfer was 126'. Compression was at 235 psi.
Remember its all about the combination. Pipes work the best in the combination they are designed for.

I would recommend our TRX 350G pipe and silencer for that combination.
