Well this wasn't supposed to be a project when I bought this quad, but when I would get above 3rd gear I had a vibration in the rear tires and that's all it took. A set of OEM hubs let to an OEM bearing carrier, which led to a OEM swingarm, and that led to an RPM Dominator II axle. I also removed the ESR airbox eliminator kit and got an original airbox with snorkel tube system back on it. That's right, I eliminated an eliminator kit, LOL. The first two pics are from the previous owner. The next 3 are from where I just got the rear swingarm, carrier, and axle put together and back on the quad. I also removed the Bill's Pipe and FMF Core 2 silencer and replaced them with an FMF Gold Series Fatty pipe and FMF silencer that looks similar to an LRD but I'm not sure what it's actually called.

Hey Scott, you can see just a little from the pic of the back whith the chain on how it kicks a little. Where the carrier tube was off a little from the previous fix.

Someone had welded where the arm met the housing and did a bad job. The got the metal too hot and actually melted the housing a little and it wasn't completely round and the edge wasn't straight anymore either. It was in bad shape.

no matter what, they are never done!!!!you better hurry up.it's going to get cold here soon!!

C'mon Marty, you've never been ice riding? Some of the best times I ever had was on the ice at Indian Lake when it was frozen over and I was showing the snowmobiles was an ATC250R was all about. They had me on the long straight aways but as soon as we got back in the channels with a lot of turns I would leave them in the dust.

Yea it does AJ. The axle nuts weren't the same on both sides. One was an OEM 250R nut and I'm not sure what the other one was. I need to get another OEM 250R axle nut asap because once I tightened up the nut on the right, the nut went so far in that a cotter pin had no prayer of stopping it from backing out. It was about 1/2 the width of the other nut and didn't have the flange on the inside like the OEM nut has. The axle definitely adds some width and looks awesome though!

Ha.. Around here in NY if any snowmobiler sees a quad,ATC, or even a quad with tracks on it there kicking you off the trail and giving you a fist when you ride by..  NO Wheeled vehicle signs everywhere on trails here.  Really sucks nowhere to ride in NY except private land..  To me its discrimination and someone has to have a dream.

A atv with skis and tracks is allowed on the trails no matter what, they can get bent.

yeah I always wanted to do that but they will still find a way to scream about it.  I looked into getting tracks for my R a long time ago but they were rare for R models.  I want to say the company started with a B or something.  Cant remember my memory is shot:dispirited:

Ahhh found it... AD Boiven use to make them for an R many years ago.

One of the Huevos videos had guys with them on sport quads also

Ktracks.com has them for our R's  but at 2600 thats a bit steep for just a rear set.

Just curious on why you took the bill's pipe off?

The previous owner had jacked up the end of the pipe and the Core 2 silencer wasn't meeting it properly. The new FMF silencer wouldn't mount up correctly either. Plus is was a loose fit at the exhaust joint and where the head pipe meets the pipe. I really liked the shape and routing of the pipe, and preferred the look of it as well, just too many problems with it.

Gotcha.  Was curious cause I just bought one.  Ive been told its a decent trail pipe and I got it cheap so I figured it was worth a shot.   I got the bill's silencer with mine so I shouldnt have any problems with the fit.

No, you shouldn't have any issues at all. I'm almost tempted to cut the tail end of this Fatty pipe off and weld it on to the end of the Bill's pipe so that I can continue using it because I really do like the pipe. I think you'll enjoy it as well. Just have some hi-temp silicone ready for where it goes on at the exhaust joint and where the pipe goes together if it feels loose. Mine leaked at both spots even though I had put a new OEM exhaust ring in there and I had heard from two other people it was a known flaw with Bill's Pipes.

Hope the swinger is good and you are happy

Lovin the swingarm. As you can see, it looks awesome. Working on getting new Pro-Link decals made for it.

i still say to put the nurf mount's inside the frame.if you don't want to do that, than just weld a stud to the inside of the nurf mount, and bolt it to the backside.

I'm going to give it a shot this weekend. If there's any chance to get those mounts inside the frame, I'm going to because I would rather have them there for strength purposes anyway and to take some pressure off the motor mount anyway. If I can't, I'm just going to put a clearance dent in the pipe and be done with it. Then I'm going to go to work with some steel wool and a can of WD-40. I want to see if I can get that pipe down to it's natural finish.
