Just purchased a 88 R. I would like the pegs to be a little lower. What are my options? Lower and wider to the back would be nice. Also not looking to break the bank. Maybe a DIY

My two cents.  Roll design is the best stand alone option and you pay for it $$$.  AC Racing has a propeg setup designed to work with the stock mounts.  The whole setup is pretty expensive but the cool part is you can buy the pegs and cages for $60.  I did this but prefer my Rolls.  The AC pegs work fine as a standalone for up to fairly aggressive trail riding but they need the support of the entire system if you are getting into any type of racing or jumping.  They move the peg backwards and if you have anything but big feet you'll need to get a -1 shifter.  RIS designs has a peg for the 88 but it looks like more of a duner type setup.  I'm sure some folks of here may have some contacts for you.

If you can cut and weld the stock ones can be lowered about a 1/2". Then you can take a junk set and double them up by welding them to the back.

I will look into the AC setup.  Sameltoe I didnt think you could mount 87 pegs on a 88 frame.

my experience only comes with having 86/87 Ims pegs on my 88/89 Arens, and then switching to the 88/89 pegs becuase somebody put up a set of roll healgaurds that I just had to have lol so I switched to stock year pegs.

I wish I would have stayed with the 86/7, much more comfy for me. Now I feel crammed...

If you are going to mod your stock pegs and need another pair, I have some that I have no use for.
