When are they for sale...or better yet when do you release the R version?  Nice work Troy.  Now I understand why your project thread went cold.

Yea I've got a ton of stuff going on right now I haven't had a chance to work on the budget bike.  I'm actually thinking of switching plans for that bike and do something way cooler for the 250r.

Can you make a somewhat lengthy thread/post explaining the process necessary to make these? I think it would be cool to see the steps taken

T, I work with Jay at FWC he makes these for me.  I don't actually do the CF myself.  I let the experts do that, LOL!  I scanned the existing boot with my 3D scanner, converted it to a CAD model then made several tweaks based on flow parameters/characteristics, then sent the model for 3D printing to create basis for the mold.  These are done in an autoclave.

They will be available for the 450r soon, (couple of weeks), I need to make a few minor adjustments to the design.  Unfortunately they are not direct bolt on to the stock airbox, I had to make a few simple modifications to the airbox to make these work with the stock box.  My original design includes an aluminum box that will be sold as a package deal, but if someone wanted to do the required mods to the stock box I would sell the CF intake seperately.

I just thought you all would like to see some of the stuff I'm working on.

In the testing that has been done, is it made for a stock type 450 or a full modded engine.

Stock-type MX/XC motors, I have not tested the design yet, only done a fit up.  Dyno testing and flowbench work is coming soon, still alot to work out.  I've ran flow simulations but those are just to point you in right direction, and based upon alot of assumptions.

What a work of art.  It inspired me to stay up all night watching videos on making molds for CF vacuum forming. The pros make it look so easy....I can't imagine how much money would be wasted trying to master the craft on your own.  Good call working with Jay.
