I've seen a lot of you post pictures with your quad on a stand that you made at home. Id like to make some so I have something decent to work off of and also to wheel my quads around the garage. I've searched the web with no luck finding anything solid that I liked. A lot of you I'm sure have come up with some great ideas that are inexpensive and I would love to see some pictures and thoughts. Thanks!

Im curious too. I would like to build the wood style with heavy duty castors. I would also like to have a table style that doesnt have wheels.

Hopefully you guys will allow this picture!!  Had a friend of mine make a couple stands for me out of scrap steel. He is a welder and has access to all kinds of stuff.  got some cheap harbor freight castors for the bottom and it rolled around nicely.  Unfortunately I gave it away with the banshee when I sold it.  One of these days I will have to have him make a couple more for me.....

I call this one "tidy cat" and it got the job done just fine.

This one is my 1st gen wood stand.  Was desperate and needed an improvement over "tidy cat".

And this is my newest wood stand.  I have yet to add casters but it would be simple if you wanted to.  I'd probably tie the legs together if I were going to wheel them around the garage.

Now I'm using my bike stand since I sold the bike...LOL

This is a place holder for a real stand - not.  The wood one requires 2 2x4's and some 2" wood screws =$5

I've deffinately used a tidy cat stand before lol. Supernutt I've seen a few variations of yours I know I've seen some that adjust up and down with a pin to lock it. Another thing I'd be interested I is what height people are making them.

Typically I use my Craftsman atv jack, or an old speaker box I have. What I dont like about the jack is that it doesnt lift high enough and it hard to use when nerf bars are mounted and they are harder to roll around. I also have a metal scissor stand, I like the work height, but always felt that they aren't to stable.

I bought one of these http://www.harborfreight.com/movers-dolly-39757.html and then added wood to the center then made a box to sit on top.

How are most of you getting the quad on the stand?  I'm trying to be good while my back is healing, so having to pick it up right now is out.  I'm building my 3wheeler on top of a cheap craftsman toolbox,  but I got all the weight up there before my back went out.

Well mine are actually pretty high.  Usually I start the build on the stand and tip it backwards and then lift the front and kick the stand out of the way.  That's one reason why I have not added caster wheels.  I usually use my dirt bike stand when the quad is already built.  Put the rear tires on two cement blocks, place the stand underneath, wiggle the bike in place.

I will use regular automotive jack stands for repairs, easy one man operation. One under the front bumper lower tube and one on each side of the axle

These are my two options at the moment.  The scissors are nice but you have to lift the front end up to put the stand underneath.  Other downfall is you can't move them around too easy.  The motorcycle/atv jack works great but I need to make it lift higher.  I am 6'4" and hate bending over hours at a time working on things.

This is my long term work stand. Some angle and ply shelves, 1" square legs, and a 1"x3" rectangle tube top. 31" tall. It's stable right up until it's time to bolt the wheels on the quad.

Ytman I like yours. It would be nice to have something to stand at and also have shelves to set stuff on

I don't know if any of you have seen the military style folding chairs but I've been thinking about modifying it to work. It's super lightweight and can hold 250lbs just fine. The additional 100lbs could be an issue. I've got 4 to test with.

It's like this but without the pouch or back. I'm thinking if it's too weak I'll just use angle iron to brace. Remove the cloth and use a chain to keep it from collapsing.
