Glammy, each to their own I guess, but being in the business, I see it often where people don't have the coverage they want, or just plain cannot buy what they truly want. However in this case, I have what I want, and unfortunately if someone used me for 1/2 mill, a shotgun isn't gonna protect my family from living in the streets, and it sure won't allow me to be the dad I want to be.
I ride PINNED! Therefore, no bdt in this household.

I can honestly say I am happy with my premiums, especially on the quad. $25/yr? Are you kidding me? That's about 50 cents per week for 500k in liability. With the end result of whoever may be suing me getting paid, and me paying a $500 deductible. I'll take it.

Ps- I used a 4.10 when I was 7. Your guns weak! :owned:

I thought very similar about insurance before I worked in it. If you saw the profit margins or lack there of, of the big players you would be astonished. Insurance really is there to protect you. The reason you have that negative attitude towards insurance is because it is an intangible product and you don't get that instant gratification. It is really something you hope you don't have to use. But when you need it, it makes that premium worth while. Especially for liability. Liability will cot you much more with out insurance than your on property repair or replacement in the evnt of an incident. One thing I hear a lot of for liability claims on an atv Is someone else riding your quad or you causing someone else to wreck.

I looked extensively, tried finding loop holes in every line of insurance when i worked at SF, it was a no go for an "agreed value" only "replacement cost." And replacement cost is based on how much they could buy a 250r for today, as close to what you already have. And that doesnt include the crazies who put $10k on their cl ad, it would probably end up being around a 3k payout. Now i dont know about you, but my front end alone cost more than that.

Exactly.  And to those that say you can insure custom parts and accessories.. I'm not going to rely on the insurance company's "knowledgeable claim adjuster" to know anything about 250R's, let alone "trust" that he is knowledgeable enough to make a fair assessment of the "accessories" I have been paying for coverage on.  Therefore, the "dollar for dollar non depreciated replacement cost for accessories" that is offered from Progressive is the best option I've come across so far... but I don't really want to settle for that.  The search for an ATV AV policy continues!

Good points made there havinnoj, i agree 100%. However i did see ONE TIME at State Farm, a guy had a truck that KBB'd at about $6,000 but he had some "custom" stuff done to it such as running boards, rims and tires, tonneau cover, etc. Nothing major, but long story short, SF ended up paying a little over $10k because he was so persistent and pissed off. Now that is rare, but one of the benefits wth being with a huge insurance company is an extra 4k to them is a penny to us.

Now is that a good enough story to get me to chance it? Absolutely not.

Whats the matter.....isn`t flo cute enough for you ? Before you go deleting......i wonder if you can get " dollar for dollar NON depreciated replacement cost for the ACCESSORIES in your enormous scrotum sack ? This website was created because you were BANNED if you said anything about how faaked-up aceho-carlos and da cholo`s from bdt are ! And then you start doing the same thing by deleting something that you don`t like to hear ? Try putting SNAP-SHOT from progressive on your quad and see what your safe duneing will save you........unless you`re scared......do you always do what they tell you to ? I hope you never need the money that you`ll waste trying to insure an ATV worth 3 -5k .......it`s chump change ! The annuals on my LEAR.....oh never mind !:ban?::Boobies2::fighting0024:

glamy like I said before, your previous post was deleted because it contributed nothing constructive to the discussion, not because you had a different opinion.  Different opinions are always welcome as long as they are on topic and constructive.  The latter part is something you're clearly having a difficult time grasping.

But actually.. maybe not.. I guess you're providing slight value by staying up late / getting up early to think about possible ways to "ensure [my] enormous scrotum sack" so no need to ban you.  Please keep everyone posted on what the best option is!

Sounds like you'd rather camp out with your bikes 24-7 to deter theft.  My lifestyle doesn't allow that, so I'm willing to pay for a policy that covers the theft and repays at a value that would pay to rebuild the bike, when I can't be around. On top of that, collision and liability insurance are worthwhile for me to have and the incremental cost is minimal.  For the math: I can insure 2 bikes with Progressive's pseudo AV policy for a total AV=$25k - that'll cost me $1k annually for full coverage max limits.  It'll cost less if I specify that I don't ride 5 months out of the year.  So yes that piece of mind is worth it to me.  But to each their own.

Ok so my entire family has State Farm for everything (homeowners, auto, life, etc). They recently jacked our rates up without notifying us.

So we checked with a local insurance company through Grange insurance and my sister saves a little over $700/year on her auto insurance. So while i'm switching my auto insurance over to them i'm going to check into coverage for my ATV

Your right, chump change, that's why 3-5k might replace my front end....clearly you don't have the time or $ into your R as we so.

I use to have SF. Don't take this personal pinned. I don't think you will but still im not trying to step on any ones toes.

when I bought my house I had progressive auto insurance. I was very happy and they treated very well. SF as a package deal was cheaper house+auto so we jumped ship and went to SF. My agent turned out to be a *****. insurance for the house was more expensive when we got our paper work some time later. I asked about insurance for my ATVs. no can do she says. but jet skis can be covered. will my ATVs be cover through home owners theft? no because my property don't have a garage and the ATV will not be stored "in the house" would you like to purchase life insurance? she ask? WTF?

wife gets a speeding ticket, something stupid 31 in a 25. a month later coming out of our drive way a neighbor talking on her cell cleans out my wife. we ask our agent to investigate the cell phone records of the neighbor to prove she was on the phone. (mother in-law works for AIG insurance and said to request that as they do) my agent said that is not possible. next bill rates went up.

I bought a brand new truck. agent was happy to cover it and push life insurance on me- again like every other time I decline. going to work one morning I ran something over. I don't know what it was I didn't even see anything. other people ran it over too. what ever it was it broke my lower lip hit my tranny pan and brole some other undercarriage stuff. $2800 worth of damage. agent said SF will send the check to the shop doing the work. 2 weeks and the check never showed up. every call I make she says its on the way. I finally got my check when I turned into an a$$hole and said some choice words. I had to go to the SF main office to pick up my check but at least I got it.

final straw... when I was in high school I was covered under my parents SF policy. I got cut off lost control and totaled the car. was proven not to be my fault. SF took care of that. still years late I got this agent questioning me about this. I ask does this affect my policy? she said no. but its in the computer. so if it does not affect my policy now it really don't matter. I cancelled my policy then and there.

I hope it was just that SF agent and not all agents.
