No offense to the Honda folks but given a choice I'm thinking KX500.

Anyone notice how similar to the CR500 Linkage setup his frame is...The shock is offset to the right, its nearly vertical and looking at the linkage itself looks to be copied from the Cr500. Just goes to show our old technology is still trying to be duplicated! :playful:

It looks like a narrow frame but it's hard to tell because of the tubing size he used. LTR is very similar to 250R geometry, Doug Gust helped them design the thing so one would assume it had the best characteristics of all machines available at the time in his opinion.

The shock isn't offset on that frame like a CR setup but most of the bike linkage setups are similar it's the same concept from back then. BTW I have one of your bikes brothers it's P004 I talked to Johnny Gallagher Jr. about it for a while one time at a GNCC.

They are also building a cr 500 hybrid right now using a 450R chassis

I would be first in line if Six 5 Designs would make a kit to mount a CR500 motor in a OEM 450R frame. I happen to have two 450R's in my garage!

Take that back, I would be first in line for the KX500 motor, CR500 motor would be my second choice!

I wonder if one is slightly better then the other on the vibration end for being installed in a quad frame? No counter ballancer on either we know so neither would be great but I just wonder if one would work slightly better then the other for this use. Probably not enough to matter...

I would definitely be one of the first in line for one of these. Might need to get a list going and send it their way to jump start the sale of the kits.

I sent a email regarding the cr500 conversion but never got a response. Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep wrenching on this darn 4 stroke motor lol
