Ok all here is a little about Mikayla Inman.

Mikayla Inman
Hello, my name is Mikayla Inman.  I am 15 years old and my goal in life is to become a successful professional motocross racer.  I began my career at the age of five, riding a Honda CRF 50 in the 50cc Trail Class my first year of racing.  At the end of the season I was the Super Series Champion in Southwest Michigan and 7th in District 14.  The following year I continued to ride in the 50cc Trail Class and finished as Super Series Champion once again and increased my District 14 position to 6th place.  I rode a KX 65 only briefly for one season and moved on to a KX 85 in 2008 where at the end of the season I finished 3rd in the 85C class, 12th in the Michigan Mafia Championship Series, 12th in Las Vegas at the National Amateur Arenacross Finals, and 22nd at Loretta Lynn Regional.  This year was a good building year for me to experience a number of national events and for only being 9 at the time, I believe I did quite well.  In 2009 I finished, 3rd in the Grattan Raceway Series, 5th in the Midwest Regional Amateur Arenacross, and 12th overall at the Amateur Arenacross Nationals in Las Vegas.  By 2010 at the age of 12 I moved up to a KX 100 and rode in both the Women’s Junior and the Women’s Senior classes.  I finished 1st in the GLMX Michigan Mafia Championship, 3rd in the Great Lakes Championship Series, 2nd in the Amateur Arenacross Northern Region, 4th in the Amateur Arenacross Eastern Region, and an overall 7th place finish in the Amateur Arenacross National Finals in Las Vegas.  This past year I have matured greatly in my racing, establishing small goals to reach my main one.  Working out physically, practicing every day on the track my dad built for me out back, and watching videos of races and reading magazine articles to help me improve mentally and physically.  My results for the season have improved.  In 2011 I began riding the KX 100 and a Suzuki 125 (in the women’s senior class).  I did not race much the beginning of the first championship as I practiced more and honed in on my abilities.  The first round left me in 6th place for the Michigan Mafia Championship series, however, by mid summer I finished 2nd in the Great Lakes Championship Series, 1st in the east division of Amateur National Arenacross and podium in 3rd place in Las Vegas for the Amateur National Arenacross Finals!!! I also received the Presidential Fitness Award this year.  Amateur Arenacross begins again in November 2011 where I will be competing in the Women’s Junior class on my KX 100 and in the Women’s Senior class on my Suzuki 125.  My goal is to qualify for the Amateur National Arenacross Finals in Las Vegas in the Central Region in both classes.
2012 was a training year for me.  I spent a great deal of time practicing and training because I felt like I had plateaued and needed some direction.  At first it was very difficult for me not to be at the track every weekend, but I found that as time went on I truly regained my focus and desires that seemed to evade me throughout my 2011 season.  I appreciated the track and the experience a great deal more and I tried harder because we were not at the track often.  We only went once a month to see if I was improving by racing my competitors and seeing where I placed.  We timed my laps and watched the videos and developed a plan of action to continue to get better.  I did compete in arenacross and once again earned a spot in Las Vegas Amateur National Arenacross.  This time in Las Vegas was a disappointment for me and a huge learning experience.  I was running second when myself and another rider were taken out by a lapper.  It was so disheartening for me as I ended up finishing fourth.  However, I believe everything happens for a reason and as I look back I realize now that this was the motivation I needed to commit myself completely to my racing.  It has definitely been a blessing in disguise.
I began 2013 with a tenacity I haven’t felt in a while.  From the beginning I was determined to make it to Loretta Lynn Nationals.  I have been training harder than ever before mentally and physically.  I competed at the Red Bud Pro Nationals weekend and placed first in the Women’s junior class and third in the women’s senior class beating three pro licensed riders!!! I didn’t know this until my dad told me afterwards.  I was so encouraged to see that my hard work had paid off and I was actually able to compete with these riders.  What a blessing!!!  I fought tooth and nail to earn a spot and I can say today that I am on my way for the very first time!  My area qualifiers were so challenging and I honestly thought it was over after much heartbreak with my results, but I persevered and was successful.
In order to achieve this goal and my overall goal of becoming a professional motocross racer, I have dedicated myself to preparing every day both mentally and physically by maintaining a positive attitude and healthy body.  I have established a daily physical strengthening and cardiovascular workout consisting of running for an hour, exercising an additional two hours every day, riding my bike ten miles every day, and studying videos and my training guides to develop and critique my abilities.  I play school sports to maintain fitness during the outdoor motocross race season as well.  Being physically fit is not the only area that must be healthy to win a race.  Begin mentally prepared is necessary as well.  To achieve this, I review races of professionals to develop better understanding of the techniques of riding and how to improve what I have already learned.  I watch my training videos on a daily basis as well as my own races to determine areas of weakness and improvement.  I am focus driven and my focus is on competing professionally and continually improving and bettering my ride so that I can perform to the best of my ability and best represent my sponsors and myself.
Though this is my ultimate goal, I realize that receiving a good education is most important.  I am an A/B student and I strive with great efforts to maintain this as academics are not always my strong suit (lol).  I love sports, running, and outdoor activity, but I almost always apply myself with great effort to succeed.
I also believe that success happens when I have a good attitude.  I may not always win every race, but my goal is to.  In order to accomplish this, I must learn from every race and not let it get me down when I am not as successful as I expect to be (I HATE to lose).  I have an extremely competitive personality, but when I lose, my focus is on what needs to change in order to win the next race!  Having a good attitude on the track as well as off the track is very important.  I have many people who watch me race:  parents, other riders, kids, sponsors…etc.  Representing my sponsors, myself, and my family positively is an important aspects of racing.  I am careful to leave only positive opinions and attitudes with those around me (regardless of how I may feel like acting when things do not go my way).  I have a great support system and parents who help me remember that on and off the track I am representing not only myself, but those who support and sponsor me.  It is not just my reputation that is at stake, it’s theirs as well.
I am extremely humbled and grateful to all of my support and sponsors who help provide me with the means necessary to race successfully and help me reach my goal.  I do everything I can to help promote all of my sponsors and I am very thankful that they are so willing to help in any way that they can!  I have a list that I take up to announcing to have it read (they are really good about reading all of my sponsors and what they do for me!).  I have all of my sponsors listed on my bikes, trailers, race vehicles, and personal vehicles.  We hang banners and hand out cards to people at the track to promote my sponsors.  In the past, I have done commercials, newspaper articles (I was even featured on Fox 28 News for the Pro National Weekend at Red Bud! That was AWESOME!).  Whatever my sponsors need from me, I do my best to provide.  Even Christmas cookies (lol).  My mom makes a tin of cookies for all of my sponsors and they are the best, just ask any of my other sponsors.  It’s one of their favorite gifts from my family and me.  We love to make them and go visit all of my sponsors with thank you cards for all of their help.
Whether or not you choose to sponsor me, I really do appreciate that you have considered me.  Thank you for taking the time to read my portfolio and learn about who I am and what I am going to accomplish as I diligently strive to become a professional motocross racer.
