Good news for all Big Bore guys!!!!
« on: February 15, 2014, 11:36:25 AM »
Im gonna let the cat out of the bag,I figured someone would have posted it by now but...So here is the good news Arlen (LED) has made a run of tranny gears.....YAY....And here is the better news they are not $1200.00 billet gears..He has cut 1st,2nd an 3rd for around $500.00 i think (out of some other metal i forget) i take it he only cut these 3 because these first 3 take most of the load and break on those nice holeshots we all love..lol...If anyone has spoke to arlen and has anymore info to add plz feel free to add...Man this is great news for the 250r community and BB guys that like to shatter 2nd gear...lol... ME...

You are right about these are the gears that get broken. It only makes sense to replace the broken gears instead of paying for a complete new transmission. I know the other guy was saying that only making complete sets was what they could do. I asked about first and second only and was pushed aside as usual. He is more concerned with making big $$$ on us 250r brethren. Any real builder would just fix whats broken and not fix what is not needed. Big thanks to LED!!!! Proud to have them as a site sponsor!

Just talked to Arlen yesterday.  He has 1st and 3rd countershaft gears in stock with 2nd countershaft due in the next month or so.   He said right around $500 and they are VASTLY improved over the originals.  I will be getting them when I decide how big of a sphinx I want!!

LED rocks!  His willingness to reinvestment in the 250R is one of the many reasons why I choose to go with Arlen (LED) for my complete top end package.

Have you got your top end yet?  I'm waiting to see a few of the LED builds I know Tbone got a 350, and I really want the 300 sphynx kit just need to save a bit of money.

Not yet but it should be right around the corner.  I haven't called but I suspect only a few more weeks based on his backlog at the time when I ordered.  Mine will be a sphynx 300PV ported for XC.

Arlen is a great guy,and awesome to do business with.ive never run one but have heard good things on his pipes...i still call till this day with a random question and he will try to help you with your question, problem or what you need help with....Weather you are buying something from him or just need advice he will help you in anyway he can.And i know this first hand...I bothed him for weeks on end with multiple questions before i even made a purchase and was treated as a paying customer every time.LED is diffidently a top notch go to company for the 250r...

One thing for sure, we know LED (Arlan) has been around for a while, back in the early days of the 250R, sponsored riders, built engines & not very much, if anything at all he has to guess about when it comes to a Honda TRX250R. Hes a rock you can stand by & know its real.

Oh my God,,, really, cause I'm not even a 1/4 of how good Arlan is.
When it comes to a 250R, the people I hold to the highest honor, Arlan L (LED) Allen K (CT Racing) Curtis Sparks, Chris Greshsom (CGR Suzuki Of Paris). Racer of all times, Gary Denton first & then Shane Hitt because of 2 strokes.
The night a few years ago, when I watched Shane run down the front straight with 2 more laps to go & was in first, motioned with his left hand down low, wave motion for Tim Farr to pass him, but Tim couldnt catch him on his 4 poker, that just made 2 strokes to me all worth keeping them alive as long as I can.
Tim Farr, myself & a friend of mine standing there was the only ones seen Shane do that & you can best believe it was "GOOD" to me.
