Yes, Plasma is a good cost alternative to the laser.

nice!
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

Is it programmed with G and M codes like a CNC?

The water-jet is very slow in comparison to the plasma. But the edge quality is significantly better. Water-jet uses G code.

GOT LASER BEAMS!? ;) plasma is cost effective, but you cant even compare cut quality. we have punch plasma workcenters with high def hypertherm systems, but my trumpf 3030 L20 is my baby :)

No clue....I spend most my time in our manufacturing plants dealing with buying, planning, and shipping product.  I love the fab shop though.

plasma is great for general fabrication with 1/2" and down for practicality. Waterjet is EXCELLENT for odd medium to cut and has great cut definition and precision within .001" yet very expensive to maintain the proper stream as you are changing $200 mixing tubes and orifices often. Laser is a great alternative to WJ but is limited on medium.

With the fab I do I would buy cnc plasma and outsource my needs for water jet or laser to make either one of those cost effective you must run them round the clock or build custom parts at a high rate.
