Thanks for all the pictures. We are picture *****s here. My dad is retired navy. I use to go on his ship all the time. Its was always fun seeing all the cool machinery hilos and aircraft.

I may be wrong but it looks like your lower motor mounts are welded on incorrectly. Its best to bolt your motor back in the frame when welding in your mounts. Using your motor as a jig insures that everything is lined up correctly.

That depends if the cross rails are in the same position as stock. He did mention on the other site his motor sat a little to the right. Its best to fully mount the motor with head-stay and tack in the lower motor mounts. I can send him another set if needed.

I stand corrected. Upon looking at your pictures more. I thought the flat part of the lower mounts were pointing inward. The motor does not sit completely dead center. It does also help if you use the head stay as Tony mentioned. That way everything is lined up as it should.

As long as your front motor mounts bolt up you should be good. I once welded in the lower mount wrong and had to make custom front motor mounts. Sat about 1/4" to low. Pipes have alot of adjustment (give), you should have no problem with that.

Yes I have 2 buffing lathes. Most use mothers aluminum polish. If you put the polish on the handle bars wrap the rag around the bar in a complete circle and pull back and forth on each end of the rag. As the rag spins around the bar it makes polishing round surfaces much faster. This method works well on bumpers and pipes.

Its stuff you learn in the parking lot at the dunes.:sign0108: The guy had a banshee with the usual 2 pipes. He polished up the mufflers to a mirror finish by hand in a short amount of time. I was like :sign0065: Oh, and that stands for "Way To Fast"
