Milky oil from the counterbalancer?
« on: March 26, 2014, 09:03:15 PM »
Hey guys, decided that this gorgeous 25 degree day would be perfect to install my new ESR billet CB holder. Well after removing the old one (which was quite stubborn) There was some milky looking oil sitting in there. I was just curious if this was "normal" or why this happened. I got it all cleaned up and installed the new holder and cleaned out the ignition area while I was at it

Thanks for any help!

Dab a little silicone around the rubber plug where the wires go in.

Drain your trans oil and give it a look too. You've got a little moisture from somewhere. Maybe a deep water crossing last fall (vent tube entrance) or condensation from the lovely weather everyone has had.
Hopefully its not coolant.

There's no coolant in it, tasted it myself. I'll do the gear oil tomorrow since I think its supposed to be a balmy 30 degrees! Never did any deep crossings with it since I've had it but like you said F this weather
