I bought my '78 K-10 recently, (it's the same year as me;))
It will be a summer only truck for me, and used for cruising and pulling my 18' wheeler trailer for camping trips while my '06 Silverado hauls the camper
It came from TX in may of 2012 and the TX title I got with it stated it came from Tuscon AZ before that.
She is a solid old survivor that already has had alot of good work done to it. The main things left to do are a nice paintjob and to finish the interior.
Here is how she sat when I bought it:
-GM 12 bolt rear with new Richmond 3.83 gears and locker
-Dana 44 front axle
-Freshly rebuilt 4 speed manual with reciepts
-350ci with cam, Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock carb
-full length headers, true duals with cherry bombs
-All new Painless full chassis wiring kit
-MM aftermarket hub lockouts
-4" lift
-35" BFG's
Here is how it looked when I bought it.

I have made some changes and here is the only pic I have of what I have done to this point.

-I added an OEM grille and 73-73 front marker/turns. Only 2 years they were amber.
-Just last night I replaced the black painted rear bumper with a very nice chrome diamond plate step bumper.
Things I will be doing soon:
-I have another bumper lined up for the front end, it is an OEM chrome with the vertical bumper gaurds.
-Also have a visor with marker lights that will be painted black an installed
When the weather gets warm enough here to paint:
-Going to sand, prime and paint the bottom 8-10" of the body with roll-on bedliner for looks and protection
-Painting the grille semi-gloss black, and the bowtie and 350 badge will be Ford blue.
Ultimately in a few years when I can afford it, the whole truck will get a professional paint job. It's going to be a dark candy-apple red with black rally stripes up the hood, over the cab and down the tailgate.
Any other ideas suggestions??
And if you have an old truck feel free to show n' tell!
