I just picked up an 86 250r the other day and can't wait to take it to the dunes after I fix some little stuff on it. Hope I can find some help to identify some stuff that's done to it and hopefully find some parts!

Looks real nice to start with. What size motor? Polished covers are nice. Collin needs his eyes checked or maybe its just the phone he is looking at:lol: Its yellow for sure. Not even close to the gold Higgy's got. Welcome to our site!

I'm not exactly positive on what's done I was told its like a 305cc but I do know its a long rod and ported and polished, lrd adjustable pipe supposedly it is an aftermarket frame or is stock and has been stretched not to sure how to tell. I traded my 04 yfz for it haha I usually ride the dunes or tahuya but this bike and my banshee prob won't see tahuya.

Why is this plate in here? Haven't noticed that on a stock one.

Welcome to the site. It's nice to see theres so many of us R lovers in the great pnw. The frame is oem & it looks like an 87. The extra front upper shock mounts are not stock & if there's no gusset on top of them I don't think they would be very strong & the first hard landing could be bad news. The plate on the steering stem is not stock either & I'm guessing the tapered holes where the tie rods bolt on may of been wallowed out & that plate is how they repaired it. It looks like a really nice R though & it's cool that you got rid of the yfz to get it.

Haha glad im not losing it! But upon a little closer look, it looks like a faded yellow. Besides the point though. Nice R, i would not run those upper shock mounts, looks like someone wanted a LT front end with Standard travel arms...weird.

The tie rod situation, check out this thread, there was some weird geometry to changing the angle of the tie rods.
