This pipe has a servo motor to adjust the tuned length of the pipe to match the rpms of the motor.
Longer pipe for low RPM's and shorter for high RPM's

Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

That is cool. On the R maybe a trombone layout would work. Piston rings for sealing? Periodic cycling to keep the joints clean?

I forget the details how they sealed it put I know it took a few differant designs to get one that worked that sealed without binding up.

Not much room on a trx for the typical style pipe to have a adjustable header but maybe something that had less movement could be done

i theorized about a reed style pipe tuning that would have a similar result.

My dad used to run Karts, he ran a dual KT100 class. The pipes on it were a slipper design. Had a cable that came up to the steering wheel that you could pull on in the upper RPM range. The slipper portion was internal unlike the video. Pretty cool set-up.

That's why I wanted to reverse the cylinder to run the exhaust straight out the back.  Had a similar idea as this.  Even modeled it... LOL!

How much change in length would it take to broaden the rpm range by 2000? For example what difference in length between a trx5 and trx7?

I drove a kneel down hydroplane boat like that.  You would pull a lever on the straightaways and let go in the corners.
made a big difference in RPM. whole key was to remember when to pull and let go of lever.

about 300mm or around 11 3/4" for around a 2000rpm change

the cone inside this pushes back (lengthening the exhaust) as the exhaust pressure rises just like how a powervalve opens.
