Can I run an oem cylinder that was ran on a long rod crank with spacer plate on a short rod crank by not using spacer plate? If so what style/year piston do I need to get to make it work? Need some info back on this guys!!

No spacer plate needed if you run a long rod crank with a 1987 to 1989 piston

No spacer plate needed if you run a short rod crank with a 1985 to 1986 piston

Spacer plate needed if you run a long rod crank with a 1985 to 1986 piston.

Hey Nick, Few more questions:

Do you know the STROKE of the Long Rod Crank that the Cylinder was Run on ? It might have been a +4 Crank and would have Porting that wouldn't work if you went back to a STOCK stroke Crank (72mm)

What Year Piston was ran in it before. '86 has the half moon cutout at the bottom of the skirt....'87-89 has the window port in the intake side.

What year is the Cylinder ? Look in the Intake and if it has two vertical supports its the '87-89.....if it's a big opening with two smaller openings to the bottom left & right....it's an '86.

'86 on the LEFT....'87-89 on the RIGHT
