best oil to mix with race fuel?
« on: July 02, 2014, 05:19:45 PM »
Just wanted to see some opinions on what brand of oil everyone is mixing with their fuel. I'm currently building a ESR 350 and for many years I have ran motule 800t with very good luck. I've been running a 32:1 ratio with 110 octane. I've also been hearing good things about amsoil.

Non pv above 30 degrees run Maxima 927. Cold weather and power valve motors favor synthetic. I run Amsoil btw.

The site does not care what oil you run. If it is a pyramid scheme I would close it out. I am running klotz r-50. Some good chit and real in expensive by the gallon 32:1

the funny thing about amsoil is it seems popular with weekend dirt warriors that have fairly low power engines

i havent found anyone in other forms of highperformance 2t racing that will even touch the stuff

Maxima 927 for me 40:1 in 110 for me.  Will run this oil with non ethanol pump premium/a little race gas in the new ktm 250 I bought as well.  If you have ever torn an engine down with synthetic ran in it and the ones I have seen are dry as a bone no oil coating on any part I don't like that

You will find that people have oil preferences like flavors of ice cream, there are a bunch of them. lol. Do a little research on different kinds of oil like the castor oil based Maxima 927 and then conventional oils, and then synthetics (Amsoil, Maxima, Klotz, etc.) Also look at the technical properties sheet or technical data sheet and compare. Look for ASTM testing. A reputable oil company won't hide its oil's properties. Then decide for youself what you should run. Several have listed a few good tips like, If you run in really cold weather or use a power valve, castor type oil is probably not for you.

This is not normal to synthetics. There is a different issue going on there. If it was dry as a bone, there would have been seizure marks somewhere and/or browning of the parts that show overheating. I run synthetic oil and have torn mine down multiple times, and there was ALWAYS oil coating on everything.

110 octane, amsoil dominator 32:1.  it has worked great for me and my engine components look great.  probably got 100+ hours on my engine with no scuffing.

I run the stuff from the gas station that has a jetski weed wacker quad and spmething else on the bottle lol never had a issue never fouled a plug. I think it more in the jetting than the oil personally any oil will lube the walls.  I'll catch grief I'm sure but it is what it is lol.  Only down side. Is it smells like he'll. But gives ya a cool blue looking fuel
