I seen the other thread on suspension and it reminded me that I had not updated this thread.  I ended up getting the GT essential shocks from andy@maultechatv and I'm really happy with how they turned out.  They ride smooth but are difficult to bottom out when jumping and whatnot. The only thing that would make them better for me is a twist preload adjusment instead of a clip. I'll post some pictures eventually.

So what is required to run 450R shocks on the front of your 250R??? Are they a direct bolt on improvement over stock or are mods required? I am looking for a budget upgrade and I don't race, just play around on my property and some casual trail riding.

The length is in correct. Your front end will sit high

Length plus probably valving and spring rate.  The only thing that will work "right" is one that is set up for you and your bike. Lots of stuff will bolt up and be okay.

Am I getting the vibe that there is no "cheap" fix to the suspension issues of a stock 250R?  Seems the low end shocks of the high end company's are the way to go for a budget build. Ok so who makes the best budget priced shocks for a trail riding setup??? I see the Works Steelies and the Elka stage 1 seem to be the most popular.
