So Im in desperate need of a new set of rear tires to last me until the winter. A local guy has a set new of rear razr 2 tires for a pretty good price. The only problem is that that are 22x11x9 and my current size is 20x11x9. I run a 22" tire in the front so it shouldnt sit weird but would there be any downfalls to running the taller rear tire??

The rear end will sit higher & they will make your overall gear ratio numerically lower. Just like putting a smaller sprocket on the rear or a bigger one on the front. Personally I like 20" rears & would never run 22" but thats just my opinion.

That's a lot of tire.....
I ride PINNED! Therefore, no bdt in this household.

22 is okay if you don't care about performance and only want to trail ride. Might want to drop a tooth in the front though unless you have a big motor.

I don't even like 20's except for duning LOL. I like 18's. Some are bigger(18 in Kenda Klaws, for example, were almost a small 20- currently running 18 turf tamers for mx and supermoto) than others, but I roll 18's for everything but duning. I just don't like big tires as they IMO hurt performance to much, depending on where and what terrain you're riding. The only thing I would even consider running a 22 tire for is a super muddy XC race(or maybe a desert race, but we don't have those around here). If they were free, I still wouldn't want them cuz I don't ride in mud anymore. A muddy mx track is the only mud I've rode in a long time. If you get them, you'll prob have to change your gearing. You might wanna factor that into the price as well to see if they are worth buying.

I don't know about trail riding but for dune or drag racing 22's are the way to go. Much more ground clearance. Don't get suck in the ruts. A taller tire will give you more top speed but will hurt acceleration.

I would run a 22" if I ran rocky terrain or really rutted out trails to keep the swingarm free.

Razr 2 20" tires are closer to 21" when new because of the tread depth.

The only tires I own are 22" rears, standard size out here in the desert. As much as I bash in swingarm skids, I wouldn't even think of trying anything smaller. I think my quad handles great, of course, I have only ever ran 22" tires. The only issue you will have is the RAZR2 is a heavy tire. If you have a mostly stock motor, it may not like them to much. May want to drop the front sprocket a tooth, that will make up the gearing difference between the two sizes.
