2001 CR125 cdi with 2001 CR250 stator

Right now I'm running the 2001 CR250 ignition and an ESR adapter plate with all the mount holes set at the factory specs. I have heard that the 2001 CR125 CDI box will give you more hit on the bottom and mid but flatten out the top end over the CR250 CDI box. Anyone running the CR125 box? How do you like it compared to the CR250 box? Any issues with too much advance? Last thing I want to do is roast my topend by switching CDIs, thanks.

IMO they help the more radical ported motors and motors with topend pipes run better down low, stockish motors/pipes probably will not see the same benefits but allot will depend on the combustion chamber and pipe combo.
You should not have issues with the cdi unless you are on the edge for fuel mixture being lean, you should always check your bikes tune when ever making changes
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

Right now I'm collecting a few ignitions to try out on my 350R.  I'm running the 01 CR250 on it right now, but I have an 00 CR250, 01 CR125, and 02 CR125 ignitions.  It's been too hot in AZ and I've been too busy to play around with the bike and ignition setups..  I've thought about taking it to the Dyno but I'm probably not going to run this motor setup for too long so it would be a waste of $ to tune it with the ignitions.  Haven't decided if I'm going to build up the 350 or just go bigger with a different motor :indecisiveness:

Vader just so you know the 02 cr125 requires the one leg of the kill switch to be grounded to the frame, if not it will not shut the motor off

That's good to know.   so you just unplug one of the two couplers and run it to the frame?

Yes I am pretty sure the solid black, I actually just spliced a ground in to the frame on the kill switch side of the harness and left it
It does not hurt to leave it hooked up with the 00-01 cdi's

Just sold one. I'm sure they work good in curtain apps but for my lrd 310 setup it caused detenation on top under load. That's was with aviation fuel and 240 static comp. if I remember correctly they have more advance on top also.
