No, I'm saying its an option. A dude as skilled as you should make all the mounts. You won't regret it. I eventually did all 3/16" motor mounts. Im far from skilled at this, so I'm sure yours will look much better.

Laeger frames only use the bottom mounts, but to me it's kind of annoying.

I'd vote for welding in a new rear upper mounts

picked this sucker up yesterday

from a crf, i read somewhere it would bolt right on, nope.
trx bolt spacing is 45mm, this crf bolt spacing is 49mm. close but nope. also it needs a longer shaft going to the brake pedal.
instead of hackjobbing the shaft, i am going to leave the same short shaft, and make a small billet bracket to adapt it down slightly to reach the pedal. also will look much better without the long hose and remote reservoir up on the upper subframe.
more updates coming soon!

finished the rest of the gussets, ignore the spatter ;)

cut out and rewelded top rear mount, also got the bottom rears in, everything lines up beautifully now.

here is my solution to the crf brake master. it needed to be shifted down so the shorter piston plunger shaft could reach the pedal, and the bolt spacing was larger than the trx mount, so i cut this from some 6061 yesterday

mounts to the back of the master like this

this is how it will look on the side of the subframe, using the original trx master cylinder mounts

really simple solution, instead of cutting and moving the mount on the subframe, and welding longer threaded rod to the pushrod at the bottom. i made this 1/2" thick, but probably could be made smaller maybe 7/16".
i think it would look really good polished up since the master is polished, but im just going to powder it to match the subframe, less maintenance polishing in the long run that way.

everything will be going to powdercoaters on saturday morning.

That's a trick piece. If I ever do that mod I'll have to make one of those. Nice work.

lol. it is a good piece, and would be really cost effective if someone wanted to waterjet them *cough @Pumashine cough* lol.

i do have another piece of stock sitting here i could cut one more and send it for someone to test to see if 1/2" is strong enough, as i think its overkill and pry could be 3/8 or 7/16" thick.

Looking good. I like that crf master. Makes for a cleaner look without the master resi. Just a heads up. Nissin rear master cylinders share a lot of guts between models. I wouldn't be surprised if the push rod and plunger from the trx fit in the crf master. Still doesn't address the spacing issue.

Trx plungers are discontinued. I found that a plunger from a z400 is a perfect replacement part. The body of the z400 has the wrong dimensions to bolt on the trx frame. A little off the subject. Sorry.

Back to the build!
