What big bore kit should i get?
« on: December 26, 2014, 03:52:29 AM »
Looking into super duner setup with very good drag potientals where i can spank most 4mil banshees that are pushing over 90whp.  I want my R to have pretty reliable setup and whom/which company should i look up onto? Packard Racing? CT? Hybrid Engineering? Whats the highest rating?  Also i need my bottomend bored out to do bigger than 310cc.  Any thoughts on topend kit? Thanks :-)

Either Pete at Hybrid Engineering or Arlen at Led can do what you need and both are around the Portland area.

i think your expectations might be alittle high unless you run into some poorly setup 4mil which im sure theres a few of them out there
to much power is almost enough

Thanks... I was wondering which would be best way to spend money?  Get the puma kit from CP industries and send it to Pete or have Him order the cyls and do mad porting job?  Reason im asking is because my bottomend is also needing to be sent in to get bored out... FYI my bottomend ALREADY is an 4 MIL

If it wheir me I'd do go a puma build by hybrid, Packard. Pete seems to be more of a drag dune builders and led is more low end mid range. Can't go wrong with bubba or c Leigh as well.

I have had a lot of 4mil Banshees on my dyno that ranged anywhere from 55 HP (Poorly done 4mil with Yamaha cylinders) to over 110 hp (4 mil Cheetahs).

Good running 330s to 370s make 60 to 65 hp on my dyno.    330s and 370s in this power range will need the piston replaced about every 20 hrs or less to prevent the cracks from propagating to the point where the piston will come apart and cause a catastrophic failure.

I have not had any sphinx cylindered bikes on my dyno.  I have only had one Puma on my dyno. It was poorly done and made under 50 hp.

I also think that your expectations are set too high if you plan to run with 90 hp Banshees.   Regardless of what cylinder you use do not expect the bike to be usable and reliable for anything other than 300 ft drags or strictly for hill shooting.

you didnt mention nothin of a overide trans. without it you lose a ton of ground clutching every gear. not that you would win even with a overide but without it theres little hope. might want to make a new game plan thats more realistic

A super duner 50/50 drag setup  will also need about 90 hp to compete with 90 hp Banshees.  A 90 hp single cylinder TRX is not going to be a reliable super duner.  A 90 hp TRX is going to be a drag only engine.

I agree with Jerry, a 80 hp duner-drag set would be more achieve able. I think the problem is too many people drink the coc's cool aid and believe you can get 50 some hp and 40 some pounds of torque out of a stock cylinder.

The Saber was set up as a drag motor. The mini tooth changes the port timings with the use of the 89mm sleeve that was press into the 95mm bore. The only super duner mini tooth is still under construction. The other mini tooth is a drag motor. It is true we invented the baby Saber. I have heard there is another one available if you want to call Pete at Hybrid!
