Just figured I post my quad builds here exclusively for now.... I'll just cut and paste the begining of this thread that was started over at net to save time, but finish it here.
I've had a slow ongoing "rider" build for quite a while (years). I hope to find time to actually ride this one somethime this summer.
Some of the old vintage goodies: NOS (take out) '86 ATC engine. Swapped clyinder out for Selvy ported/polished jug currently at 265cc. Selvy hand pounded/fusion welded sectional pipe with matching silencer. WESTCOAST adjustable swingarm (-1"). Ollins suspension (standard travel). Heavy weighted flyweel & spacer. 200w stator (for future Baja build/dress). I'll be woods/trail riding mostly this year if any....
Here are some pics of the build progress. My two oldest gave powder coating a whirl...

Here 's some more progress, and a pic of my shy youngest helper taking break.

The carb is a PJ 38, smooth taper bored by Selvys. Rob told me this would be considered to be a Sonic 3 piece. The head is reworked and yields about 14.5 : 1 (200 psi) with this particular cylinder and gaskets. I have to give Rob Selvy a huge thanks for helping me match the cylinder, head, and carb to propper setting/spec. Rob has been instrumental in getting my old engine components dialed in for initial break in.
Here'a few more pics. The first is of the cylinder when I found/bought it.

I've run several heat cycles as well as poked around the yard & back alley way. Now just starting to do finish body chores. I use a "china" grease pencil to guide my drilled outline, then use a hack saw blade to cut the dotted (drilled) line. Then follow up with a portable belt sander and a hand file. This worked really slick for me for a first time trimming front fenders. :excitement:

Thanks Rupp! Pretty cramped working environment... Wish I had a bigger garage, overwhelming at times. :sign0065:

I've been working on an old set of CAL FAB nerf bars over the last couple months. It took a while to get the reproduced nets back, but well worth the wait. Here's the before and after.

CALFAB nerfs, sweet. They made high quality alum products. I had a set with pegs back in the day on a 86 and a set like that on a 88. Love the old school stuff. Have you been able to get your hands on a set of the honda mx quad front tires?

Thanks, I have a pair of new 22" PRO COMP XC Oats, but only one of the hard to find typical MX team RT 101 Ohtsu lower profile fronts. If anyone knows or has another I'd sure take one!
Here's what it looks like, just a 20 inch unlike the stock 21". Honda Part # 44751-RT101R
Some of these items will come off before actual trail riding, but make for fun photos. Like a Barbie doll with a bunch of dresses to try on.:ride:

Those are the ones. They discontinued them way to soon and they were way ahead of their time.

trx88, Those are 80's ohtsu race tires used by team honda back in the day. Most were available through your local honda dealer but the team always had custom testing tires.
