Im sure Honda patented the hood you made the mold off of. Awesome how you state no one can reproduce your reproduction of a Honda part. I'd have more respect for you simply said "I reproduced the Honda line in carbon fiber"

They look nice. I'll give you that. People either love or hate these hoods. I just don't love your sales approach.

I hate the style of those. But the quality does look good. Make some other stuff and I may buy.

Patents do expire & if you don't renew them then anyone is legally able to reproduce that item or just buy the patent & no one else can make them. We had to put a patent on them cause we were in talks with a company to make them & we couldn't come to an agreement for both parties. So this way it keeps them from being able to copy these for a while.

That would be awesome but I would say if anyone other than  Maier did that the price would be so high they wouldn't sell.

Hard to believe Honda hasn't jumped on this to be honest. They could produce 10000 sets run as limited production and snatch up $2000 easy a set and it would cost them pennies cause you know they still have the molds and tooling somewhere.

You make 10,000 sets and then nobody wants to pay $2000 due to it screwing up how rare NOS OEM plastic is. Plus with people griping abt FB's prices, how many people do you really think wanna drop 2 g's on plastic for a quad that you can buy for that much if you shop around and find a deal? Sure it won't be mint or a laeger, lsr walsh, etc..., but it will be a R. Last R I bought was an 88 with a lot of aftermarket parts on it for $800.

I'm not even gonna start on how Honda abandoned us and 2 strokes. They are a huge worldwide corp and that amount is almost chump change to them. They just started a 6 million Ride Red contingency for racers. That amt is nothing compared to the amount they'll make on bike sales, which really comes down to parts(for them) and service(dealers) to keep all those 4 strokes running/racing, plus they'll make that money back quickly, unlike all the plastics you're dreaming of.

The writing is on the wall: it's time to support those that ARE keeping the R alive.

BTW I'm not trying to be rude, but just pointing out what I know and see. Honda sold a ton of R's, but that was a long long time ago. I'd like to know how many are actually still out there running?????

"I'm not even gonna start on how Honda abandoned us and 2 strokes."........Wait a minute here.....
...Not sure how far back you go but Honda was FORCED to abandon the 250r......Honda took the brunt of the consent decree....not Yamaha....Not Suzuki....Not Kawasaki.....Honda did......WE abandoned Honda with our slick trial attorneys filing lawsuits for all the drunk idiots out there that didn't know how to ride in the first place...And then would throw a leg over their ride , Helmet-less,,and then go smash into a tree.....60 minutes turned the screws even tighter with their totally slanted report....So Basically after Honda had to pay millions to idiots And COMPLETELY lost all profits from the ATC's, they pulled out and said no more Performance ATV's....Honda's Automotive division was taking off with sales of the Accord and Civic so they didn't need to cater to the whinny drunk idiots to make money ...Then the wonderful tree huggers came along with legislation to kill those global warming 2-strokes....With what Honda went thru I was actually surprised they even made the TRX450r.....This is the Paraphrased truth...I will be more than happy to point you in the right direction if you care to read the facts!..I was there...I worked for Honda from 1980 to 1995.....
