Anybody here have any experience with parts washers?

Doing my rebuild I'm thinking of how nice it would be to throw parts in a machine an let it clean them, instead of using gas and a toothbrush

I saw the harbor freight ultrasonic cleaners, but it doesn't look like it'll do bigger items like cylinders, nor does it look like it'll clean good enough.

I was also looking at soda blasters but i'm not sure that it's what i'm looking for either

I have two in our shop, one is the harbor freight one then one is made by oil eater and wasn't too much more in price. The big bonus is it's heated and uses soap and water not some of the degreaser so it's a little safer to be around and use.

I have the Harbor Freight part washer filled with Superclean diluted. It works quite well, and they are very cheap priced. I also have a sandblaster. They both work very well depending on the level and type of cleaning that you need done. No, the ultasonic cleaner is too small for cylinders.

I wonder if you could take an old working dishwasher and plumb in degreaser as an automated parts washer.

I want something I can just throw in anything I want, turn it on, and blast all the grease oil and dirt away.

Something that wouldn't deteriorate any metal surface. So it has to be solvent based. I think media blasting of any type would be too much, even soda.

What about spraying parts down with simple green letting soak then hitting it with the power washer? I thought I read on here before guys using that to clean there bikes? I am curious as well I've gotta get the girl all shined up before my dune trip next month!
