Streamline 3 pc front braided set - location of "tee"
« on: March 18, 2015, 05:38:04 AM »
Just wondering, for those of you who have used this kit. It includes a machined tee with a single mounting hole, where did you locate it? I'm planning on making a small adapter plate that will utilize the stock holes with an M6 hole drilled/tapped in between. Or am I better off drilling/tapping a new location for this and maybe using a weld nut in the frame? Thanks.

First question, what year frame do you have? I know they mount differently between the 86 frames and the 88-89 frames. I have the Streamline kit and I mounted them differently between the two year frames that I had. I think I have a pic posted of how I mounted the tee on my 88 frame. I ended up using a 90° fitting. Let me find the pic.

i dont think its a better off situation as both are viable options. if ur frame is finished just make an adapter plate, if it doesnt have a finish on it yet you have the option to drill and weld a nut on into the location u need, its really up to you how u want to do it.

If you haven't bought the 3 piece yet just buy dual lines and then you don't have to worry about a tee. Just another option.

Hmmm.  Mine is an '86, and came to me with the 3 piece streamlines.  I will have to look and see how it was mounted later today......

1987, from what I'm seeing here, I think I'll end up cutting off the old bosses and plug welding them. Add a welded in nut to the front side of the frame and add two small squares to keep the tee from moving. I'll try to post a pic once it's done. If you can find that pic, that'd be great.

Mine appears to have just bolted on to an existing bung.  Not sure it that was added or is stock though....

Those two bosses on Jimbo's pics are the factory locations for the stock brake lines.

No problem.  Will yours not simply mount up like mine?

I figured so, but wasn't sure what was done to this frame before I had it.

And some of those things change from year to year. The 88-89 same mounting area is different from the 86-87.
