Had some free time at work, so I grabbed a chunk of 2.5" delrin (UHMW), hit the lathe, and turned out an intake plug. Planning on running an EHS setup, and I already cut and shaved the tabs for the snorkel. It fits really well, figured you alls would appreciate it :)

Nice!  How much would you send one out for?  Where about in IL are you?

Hell, idk. Never gave it a thought, lol. I guess five bucks plus postage? Takes me all of 10 mins to crank one out. I'm in north central IL, right in a spot that takes me a solid hour of driving in any direction to get to good riding, haha!

Cool, just checking.  I have a Nac's block off now, but if I do another 250R, a cheaper alternative would be great.  You are quite a ways from me, I am S/E central IL.  You ever ride at Casey IL, Lincoln Trail Motorsports?

Sounds rad, if you ever decide you want something along these lines, I can spin one in delrin, turkite, aluminum, stainless, pretty much whatever. I enjoy machining the parts, so it'd definitely be a cheaper alternative, lol.

As far as the riding spot, no, never heard of that one. We used to head down to Fox Vally Off-road in Ottowa, but it's been a few years. The R I'm currently building was bought last September as a running and riding survivor, a barn quad. Before that I'd not had a quad for probably 7-8 years, but as you well know, once that premix is running thru your veins, it's always there :)

PM your address with the words "airbox plug." I'll send one out and we can work out the particulars later.

Sweet idea, we got some of the white delrin for cutting on the water jet. It really suks all the UHMW we have is green, really odd color for TRX parts if you know what I mean. I have white for the exhaust hangers but black is preferred.

I know exactly what you mean, that green is an odd color. The cool thing about the delrin round stock is that it turns super cleanly and is strong as all get-out. That plug would destroy a hose clamp before it'd give up its shape. I'm gonna put a light bead of silicone on the flat portion that butts up against the intake hole to seal it up, gonna work out nice. I found a few of the Nac's ones out there, just couldn't bring myself to spend the $ on something I can easily make.

True dat, and I just cut 1/2 inch thick rounds from alum to plug the hole. Its not like it makes a difference if it has a lip on there. But yours looks much more professional

Thank you for that. Tbh, I couldn't agree more, hell, a bleach bottle cap works just fine :)
It's the fab that I enjoy, I love making the stuff. I "accidentally" got a little happy with the cutoff wheel and lopped off one of the reservoir mounts. What the hell, cut, drill, tap, mill, and weld in place, voila, gooder'n new, lol.
