Just dropped a new Wossner piston in an 86. OEM gaskets for head and cyl. At TDC I'm about 1.5mm below the deck which when combined with the thickness of the head gasket pretty much throws any squish measurement out the window. This is an 86 with piston (67mm) to match. Question would be: 1.) is squish that important for a stock set up. 2.) would splitting the three piece head gasket be of any value. 3.) Any thinner cyl. gaskets available ? I know cutting the deck is the best route to go but I have this motor buttoned up and would rather not tear it down again. Have to have the bike done by april 3 for my sons senior project. If squish is not that critical then I will leave it as is...and thanks for the advice on the air leak, put a little 3 bond on the base gasket and she's air tight - thanks Ron
