If you have questions, just throw up a thread with a little background info on what's going on, and we'll do our best to help you with them. if second gear is out, it will have to be taken down to the transmission (split cases) to have the gear replaced.

Loaded burrito is the best forum name I've heard in a while. And chipotle for a burrito, blah, I went to the taquria for lunch.

As for second gear, put the rear on a jack stand and with the engine off, try to have someone rotate the rear tires as shift it through the pattern.
