I am new to 250r's so I have a lot to learn. Anyway I picked up a 250r built to a 350. I am trying to fix all the little things that is wrong with it. I noticed that my rear brake stay has movement and under further inspection and comparing to parts charts I realized the bushing is missing that goes on the pin to hold it in place. Is there I different brake stay that I can use or do I have to spend the outrageous $35 for a new bushing. I would like to also get a crf450 front caliper to run in the back

No you need to put that bushing back on that nub. There is also a c-clip that goes on that nub to hold the bushing in place.

Go down the forum below the for sale section is a want to buy section. Make aa want to buy post for that bushing. I'm sure someone has an extra they could sell you. Lots of guys here willing to help a fellow R owner

What year of 250r? I don't ever recall seeing the clip on my '88. The bushing had a flange the butted between the swing arm and brake stay. This kept it from moving. Maybe the 86/87 were different.

The clip goes on the end of the nub. I've seen people not use it at all. It can't come off because the flange side is on the inside of the caliper mount

Doesn't a 450 one work also?
Idk becuase I'm using a 450 brake stay set up.

I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with 450 stuff. Would be a good alternative if it does fit

i have been using door pin bushings im not sure on the size as we had a big box full of misc door pin bushings at the last body shop i worked at and i just went thru it and found 1 that would work the only difference was insead of having 2 flats machined into it it was juet round but its been working fine for 2 years now. you might go by an auto parts store ( not advance or pep boys but an actual parts store ) and give them the internal and outer diameter you need and they can find something that will work you can usually by them singally for under a dollar a piece hope this helps.
