Pipe Mounting on Arens Frame

Does anyone know how well a pipe that's made for the stock trx250r frame will fit on a Arens Bros aftermartket frame? Will my stock exhaust hangers work or will I need a different hanger?

I should have my engine all assembled by the weekend and want to start the break in process, but I am unsure how the pipe will fit.

This is the only pic I have at the moment. Basically I welded a threaded bung to the frame to utilize the stock mount.

Do you think if I used a piece of metal (1" x 3") to extend the mount to the hanger would work?

We have scrap pieces of 4140 steel at my work that I could take hand fulls of. I think that should be strong enough to work.

Give it a try. The only problem I can see might happen is the bolts act as a pivot point. Since the extender bracket would not be mounted in a triangle and may let the pilpe sag a little. It might work if you put some locktite to keep the bolts from getting loose

Once I get the mounting location set I may weld a mount onto the frame to prevent the pivot problem. I'm trying to get the quad all built to get it registered and titled, then I'm planning on having you PC it after.

Sounds good!
How do you get it titled without a vin? I was wondering about doing that with mine also. Where do you live?

You have to take it to the DMV and they will check it out, if approved they will tack a vin plate on it. I live near Almont Mi.

Ahh ok cool. I've gotten titles before with just a vin. Not bringing the quad at all. It was super easy but its good to know they will give you a vin plate.

That's what I've been told, I have yet to truly find out if it's true. I'm trying to contact the SOS to find out more info on getting it registered and titled. I want to insure my 250r lol.

Pretty sure Arens were built to use stock style mounts.
