so it will not start? as much as I dont like start fluid maybe try a little to see if it will fire, once you have it running you can determine if the pilot is to big or to small by the amount of turns on the air screw it takes to make it run properly. air screw screwed almost all the way in means the pilot needs to be bigger, 3 turns out means you need a smaller pilot
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

Man I sure would've thought Polanda's suggestion would be real close. Im assuming the Lectron uses a different cable than a Pwk,and if I remember right you bought a new cable with the carb. Do you think it could be a simple cable adjustment needed to make it idle? I know you said you could adjust and get it to idle.

it actually shouldnt need the cable to idle.  i am just going back to the lectron and will sell the airstryker at a loss.  now i know why some are building EFI hybrids.

Even though it is a "new" carb, try taking it apart and blow it all out. Cap sealing?

Dumb question, how are the reeds?

reeds are good.  it will start and idle great when i put the lectron back on.  it is the airstryker that is the issue.

Yeah John, I have had problems my new carb before. I swear the idle adjustment screw was not working on my new 39 PWK. I remember you saying the same thing. That baby had to be almost all the way in before it would idle. Thought it was strange but it worked.

Now you mention it there was a thread on .net where people were buying a longer idle screw for this purpose.

Is the metal version longer? I remember karla saying something about one available bit never looked into it.

Yeah, thats where we all stopped reading. LOL  Yes the metal one had the same thread pitch but was longer in length so it would not bottom out. You had to cut the spring off and that would not have to be done with the longer screw.

this carb certainly woke up this engine.  it pulls so much better, i can ride a couple gears higher and it will pull the front wheels in 5th.  it was actually worth the aggervation.lol

another thing; couldnt get hotter than 130* or so.  thinking there is still power available.
