I've been looking at some go pros and the Sony cams. There are so many out there don't which one to buy. What is everyone using or input on some you have used.

I have the GoPro Hero4 Black. Had it about a year now. It works great but wish the battery life was better. I usually record 1080P at 60 wide and it gives about an hour of runtime and uses 20-30 gigabytes. It will do 4k, but it gets really warm and only runs about 30 minutes. Overall I really like it, but the silver or the new session would probably do everything I want. Don't have any experience with the other brands.  you can see some video form it on my youtube channel  Username jafa0.                       https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8aBN9YKx-oxWTGnpmxK7jQ            I think everything but the drag vids are from my cam.

Really only 30 min?  I was looking at getting the hero 3. Most races here are about an hr I wouldn't want it to shut off half way through.

I have the Hero 3 silver and it does everything I need. I think the only difference between the top of the line and the one I have is the remote for the wifi. To sum it up, I have had zero problems with my Hero 3 silver. If you need examples of the videos check out the MX section on this website.

get the gopro. your battery life is going to greatly depend on what u have your recording resolution set at, because it will record 1440 (4k) video and that will drain it very fast. unless u are trying to film a movie, u really dont need it set any higher than 1080.

They are having some sales thurs day and friday I would probably have to order the 3 silver. Seems like they replaced it with the gopro touchscreen lcd in stores. How long does your battery last on the 3 silver on a normal setting to record while you ride/race.

I use the hero 3 silver also, works great and gets just a tad over an hour of recording time.
