Left side crankcase damage

How's it going guys I am new to the site and was looking for a little guidance. I recently purchased a 86 trx250r as a project and one of the main issues it has is the chain went threw the left case. It is jb welded currently a real brutal Cobb job to say the least and I want to fix it right. I am having trouble finding a replacement however. I have found esr make replacement cases but I find it hard to believe these are as quality as oem. Has anyone used these cases or does anyone have a lead to where I can get another case for my wheeler much appreciated thanks.

The builders that have used the esr cases prefer them because most stock cases are getting pretty worn out, is everything else good n the bottom end?

I have yet to actually take a look at the bottom end the guy I bought it from claims it has a hot rod crank with low hours but I can't trust his word. It seems to run alright I do believe it may have a possible ignition or jetting issue..breaks up bad on the top end plug is pretty black and blow by coming out the exhaust top end may even need to be freshened up this should be a interesting winter build hopefully my wallet can keep up..

I'd get the motor a part and cases split to see what all you're going to need, also sounds like electrical issues.

Ya that's the plan may be more cost effective to buy a complete running engine depending. Does anyone have a one for sale?
