I purchased this tapered bearing carrier a while back off of eBay. It was listed as a 250R carrier. When I finally got around to installing it the brake caliper stay wouldn't fit over the end of the carrier. I emailed RPM for help identifying it and sent pics and they told me it looked like a 250R/400ex carrier but I've now confirmed it doesn't fit a 250R, 400ex, or 450R. It fits in the swingarm perfect but the part that the brake stay rides on is larger. Anyone know what it would be for?

I didn't try to put an axle in it yet. Guess I could measure the bearing I.d. Tomorrow

I ran into this same problem a few months ago. The axle would fit both carriers. I never figured it out myself.

Rpm's millenium carrier has a larger snout for the brake stay, I had to have the rotor guard/brake stay machined out. I tried to measure it for you but I can't get the calipers in there. The bearings are larger also, I ordered the wrong ones the first time.

Okay they mentioned something about the millennium carrier I guess I just didn't understand. So it is for a 250R/400ex it just requires machining the brake stay hole larger?

Rpm may sell you a brake stay. It should've stayed with the carrier. I had to replace the bearings after about 35 hours. If you ride through water much I would get a different  carrier. It's a beefy setup otherwise though.

Looks like they more than likely supplied the brake stay with the carrier so this setup would work. The Stock stay is 70mm (2.755").....so they made the carrier larger to support Standard Tapered Bearings. I used to run Tapered Bearings in my Stock carrier....but I had to bore the inside from 62mm to 63mm......and then bore the inside of the bearing race to 40mm from 38mm as a 62x40 tapered bearing wasn't available....If you can have someone open up the brake stay to fit....that would be a possible route....Or if you know someone with a Waterjet/plasma/lazer cutter you could have one made easy enough...I can send you a DXF file to have this done if you want to go that route. What are the BEARING numbers ???

Looks like I have one of those carriers.
Notice how the groove for the c-clip is not in the same spot as all other carriers. All other carriers have the groove offset to the outside of the carrier.
These carriers do have a proprietary brake stay plate, it is flat and does not have the lip like all the others.

Is that a 450R caliper? I'll try to remember to check the numbers when I'm at the shop tomorrow.

Thanks guys! Learn something new every day.. and I'm excited that I'll actually be able to use this. I think it'll work good on my ice racing build.

If it is an RPM taper bearing, best as I can remember, the billet carrier, billet brake stay & clip all came together as one unit.

Is that a 450R caliper?

Actually a CR250R Front dual piston Caliper....I did a write up on this last year....for anyone wanting a dual piston Caliper on the rear of their R. :)
