So I need some advice on what shop to use to have my custom axis shocks rebuilt and a new set built for a build I'm working on. I'm definitely settled on custom axis for new shocks and I want to put the shocks in the absolute most experienced hands possible. I know a shock is only as good as its valving for the particular setup that its paired with. I know Andy Maul was a master of building custom axis but as we all know he passed so I was hoping you guys could give some help from experience. I've heard some about schmidty but not sure about them and custom axis?? All help is appreciated.

Why not use custom axis? They are very capable of revalving and rebuilding. They were very reasonable in price

Agreed.  I have 2 sets I need to get rebuilt and am leaning towards sending them back to Custom Axis.

Other shops I'd look into are:
Schmidty Racing - TRX250R.ORG Site Sponsor.
DeRisi Racing.
I have heard rumors that Maul Tech is still doing work after the loss of Andy, but haven't looked into it.

I've thought about going to custom axis but haven't known anyone that had new shocks built with them.  I'll call them Monday for prices. Thanks fellas for the help.

I was cheap. Was under $150 a shock for a revalve

I sent mine here to my personal shock builder here in Gilbert Az. And he did a ton of work to them. One had a bent shaft and were reworked for dunes cant complain about price because it was so inexpensive, and best part is I got to watch how my shock was rebuilt. For me it is so good having Kirk here because if I need any adjustments i call him and he tells me what to do to fix issue or if shock has to be brought back for any adjustments I just drive 10 miles to his home and shock is adjust within hour!!!

Beautiful quad man. Nice shocks but the plastics, wow. I love them. If you ever sell let me know please.

I've heard that the guys from Axis are great to deal with. You could also send them to Exit, the guy who owns Exit designed the Axis line and the Exits are very close to them.

Yes, Maul Tech atv is still open and work is being done by another guy that was trained by Andy. So he should know his stuff.
Schmidty Racing, one of our site sponsors,  is a great resource as well. Heard good things about them.
Cage Tech ATV is another great resource. There are a company out of Alabama. The owner was also trained under Any Maul. He races atv mx as well.
Custom Axis has great customer service and are great for servicing shocks, but they seemed to be outdated when it comes to setting up shocks for our quads. I think they have moved on to newer quads and stopped developing the best practices for our quads. I know that axis setup my shocks for me. Then Andy went through them and completely changed them. They worked much better after Andy revalved them.Just my 2 cents.
