New to 250rs from Michigan

Hey guys new to this sight new to the 250r. Started out late 80's with the lt250, then jumped up to a shee, then lt500. Then the kids came and had to sloooow way down so what do people do when they want to slow down? I bought a 450r. Lol. Spent a ton trying to make it fast, but it just didn't put the smile on my face like a 2 stroke. So after a few years (too many) I sold the turd. Enter what I thought was an 88 trx250r off the trusty old Craigslist. Being new to the 250r I did know how to tell from 85/86-87/89 jug and it did have a 88 jug. And 88 swing,He did give me an 88 owners manual. After tearing her down I find out that's the only things 88. Lol bottom end 85 atc, top end 88, the rest is 86. The guy was a machinist and made all the brackets to install 05 trx450r plastics and gas tank and seat so it looks like a 05 450r. I'm in the process of rebuilding it hoping to pick up some tips from you guys.

I think I saw that ad on craigslist with the pics.  I will admit it looked cool and the 450 plastic is probably very plentiful.  Now that the kids are here, it is time to get your toys back!!!  I took a few years off (like 6) when I had my kids, but now I have more quads than ever.....

Yea looks great if your into the new look. It was set up with a ct racing jug that was hogged out for the dunes and had to come off. Not sure if I want to go with a 310 or find an oem jug and have Bob from RB RACING put a woods port on it.
