250r dune trip report

So some of you may have noticed I made several posts this last few weeks and I have been concluded my dune trip.

First thing was cooling issue. I decided to try a China radiator before going big with an afco plus my buddies and I agreed it would be a bad idea changing a rad out there. I can honestly say they work! Bike never got over 190 and I was beating the piss out of it going up some big hills. It was actually tough keeping it above 150. This bike has always been over 200 since I built it.

Does anyone know how to get an Esr 9 pipe on a bike with cr500 rear? My pipe leaked and leaked but when I originally mounted it I got it to work with copper but it blew that out after a few hours.

Led light bar with battery and under the seat worked amazing I had the brightest light out there I could do anything and the entire trip charged my little 9ah battery 1 time. We did decent amount of night riding too. I have a cr250 ignition so this was my only option and I'm pleased to say I will run with it forever.

Glad to hear your R ran well.  Any detonation issues you had prior?

And what I'm really interested in is.. the condition of the dunes?  More pics are always welcome!

Battery is a 9ah deep cycle battery purchased from ebay I believe it was under $20. Light bar also purchased from ebay combo spot flood I believe it was $32 and a $7 switch from auto parts store. Made my own battery box and hanger out of 20ga steel. Will take some more pics and post those.

No motor issues that other then the leak bike ran strong made every hill and then some. Again was about neck and neck with a yfz450r piped and tuned in the drag races. Burned about 11 gallons of fuel in about 8.5 hours of run time (on the meter not clock).

The dunes were amazing always a weather risk going early but this time we won. Untouched everywhere no bumps (I got back issues so this was great). Some steep hills on the edges some great treeshots. Overall only rained 15mins out of our trip we had an absolute blast.

Every joint I use silicone haven't had too many issues with sealing this way.

I took some pictures of the light setup. Im glad I didn't sell this bike but it will be a few years before I can ride it normally my back is no good.

That switch crapped out in the rain so I had to direct wire it
There are slots in that angle iron with velcro straps holding it I couldn't find metal clamps in my shop and I didn't have time to get them. Ductape is just a security measure and to let the zip ties grip. I always go three times normal for dune riding.
