i'm wondering if it's gonna be 450R based to utilize the transmission and the mounting points....also maybe keep the Forward Kicker, clutch....etc too! Why reinvent the wheel.....then make the crankcase sealed to work for a 2-stroke and incorporate a larger counterbalancer for the 500cc Piston.....there was a guy in Australia trying this method....I wonder if he was successful ? Sure will be interesting to see what PANTHERA comes up with.

:)

So is this a 250r based engine? Or did they machine new cases with a counter balancer? Becuase other wise, I dont see the point. Its basically 250r with a saber cylinder.

Check out their website -  They make everything from scratch and out of BILLETT :)

Definitely curious to see how it turns out but I think the $4600 range is definitely doable

TRX450 bottom end, cr500 crank, and cr500 top end. I bet it is the same concept but with billet cases.

i assume, you need a cr500 to remove components from.  I guess the transmission for one.

Definitely explains how it's bolt in kit for the trx450

Looks like a CPI Liger cylinder on billet cases, maybe 450r trans?

They show a liger but I'd be a little reserved myself especially with Canada if a company goes under your sol as well as what are the port timing ectopic. I've seen a liger with busted cases and pull a 1/2" steel plates up.

i dont understand some of these shops that keep fooling around with stone age stuff. if you have the equipment and ability, why not design something new and fresh that actually has some power
to much power is almost enough

200k cnc that can make most anything you could dream of and theyre using it for replicating crankcases that date back to the early 80's. im completely dumfounded by this way of thinking

That looks Totally do able - It looks like it would be easier than modifying the 250R cases.....and it will BOLT right into the 450R......But how much different are the mounting points from the 250R ?? :D

Those cases are from 2004-2005.....so they're utilizing the parts that are readily available....anyone can get the parts required to build it....just need the Billet cases, Crank & Counterbalancer.....It's a good way of thinking :) Keep costs down.

The best question is for how long with the 450 no longer being available.

The 450R parts will be around for a long time.....Since HONDA stopped production in 2015....they will have OEM Parts available for 15 years....so we're good till 2030!

Besides.....the amount of used ones out there is enough to keep these going too!

Lots of 450R guys with blown motors....rollers & such....much easier to find than 250R Transmission parts.

I think this will be a good venture.....heck Panthera may even eventually start to make all the parts themselves if HONDA discontinues them......This will be a great venture I'm sure.

Can't wait to see it in the pages of DIRTWHEELS.......tired of just seeing Side by Side's ..... :)

Which transmission are they using the 04/05? 06-on that had issues under stock power and would blow gears?
