Duncan Racing PC2000 Powervalve motor
« on: August 01, 2013, 09:02:47 PM »
Does anyone have a Duncan Racing PC2000 Powervalve motor on their R or have they had one at one time? If so how did they stack up to other motor kits? I know they are quite a bit more expensive but with what is included in the top end kits this is the way I am leaning atm. Any info would be great. THX

I ride XC and play ride with my PC2000 275. I absolutely love this motor it runs like a raped ape. Couldn't be more happy with it.

My only wish is that I had either the 305 or the 340. No knock on my 275, I love it.

I have a Duncan 340 PV and like it.  Originally it was in my 86 ATC 250R but it has been transplanted to my 88 TRX while I'm working on that engine.  It is a high quality cylinder and has been very reliable since I got it in 2003.  While it is fast and has a lot of torque, I frankly expected a little more out of it.  It is not the nitroglycerin sandwich I thought it would be, but perhaps that's because its current state of tune.  I've got a CT drag pipe on it and no ignition upgrade.  I think I can make it better.  If you are spending 1600 or so you should take a serious look at the Sphynx line (check out LED Performance).  I think that is a more modern cylinder layout and has more potential than the PC cylinder.  My next cylinder is going to be a Sphynx.  Here are some pictures of my PC in my TRX:
