Pics will be posted tonight when I get home from work.

I am selling a Polonda motor that I bought from a .net/R-central member (Lived in Oregon) roughly 10 years ago. I do not know much about the motor. I bought it with the intent of putting it in a flattrack R chassis I had laying around. I never did anything other than leave it in the crate and store it. The drain plug is stripped and will need to be repaired. Base gasket will need to be replaced. Stator and clutch side gaskets may need to be replaced. A little about the motor. Cases have been machined to accept big bore cylinder. '01 CR250 ignition and CDI(no coil). '87-89 Hot Rods long rod, Vforce reeds
I'd like to get $800 shipped for it.

Do you remember who you bought it from?

It's a complete motor. I have never ran it or even attempted to put into a frame.

I've tried and tried to remember who I bought it from. I just can't remember
(brain Cell Loss).
I think I bought it off of the R-central site before it moved over to the .net site. That was a loooooooong time ago. There were only a handful of us on there. Any old member names you remember from Oregon? Seems like I remember Eugene or Portland OR.

Yeah, lots of Polonda's from Oregon. Dave Moore made quite a few.

Lots of PM's on this motor. I'll try to respond to all. It's important to remember I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MOTOR.
The things I know about it are as follows. It's a Polonda motor, It came from Oregon, the drain plug threads are stripped out, The CDI in the pics go with it.

Some of the things I don't know about it. What kind of igniton does it have? Does it have an ignition at all? Is there a piston in it? Does it have a clutch and basket in it? Is the crank any good? I can not honestly answer any of those questions. I bought it 10 years ago and stuck on a shelf. It's been there ever since.

Sorry to be so blunt. I just want to be honest. I'm not looking to rip anyone off and I don't want someone upset about something that may or may not be right with it. If someone is serious about buying it, I'll open it up to see what's in there. However if I were to find say a CR ignition in there, I doubt that I'd then sell the motor for $600. I'd either raise the price or stick a standard ignition in it. The way it sits as is, I'd sell it for $600 plus the ride. My wife reminded me today that I paid $900 for it. :dread:

Puma,
The name Dave Moore sounds really familiar. I think that's who I bought it from. Maybe not though. I may just be remembering the name from the boards.

Yes looks to be a good deal. Dave Moore did not weld the base plate to the cylinder though. Looks like the cylinder was not cut to fit the 250r bottom end. Looks as if they moved the studs on the bottom end which means you cannot convert it back to a Honda cylinder.

Adding a few details.
There is a piston in it and it's not froze up. It looks like a CR ignition to me. It's a stock clutch. There was some rust in the water pump/impeller area.Impeller turns but feels tight to me. Buyer may want to replace water pump.

CR ignition does not use a stock flywheel as in the picture. Don't know what you have but I doubt you get $500 for it.

i didn't realize that was stock. I thought stock was a little bigger. So all together you don't think it's worth $500? I guess it would hold more value if it could be converted back to a 250R top end. I appreciate the feedback.

If anyone is interested shoot me an offer.

So what it comes down to is it looks like a different year cr250r ignition you have then we are all used to. The main problem is you are not offering the coil which is essential to make it work.  You might be able to take the numbers off the CDI and find out what year it is. I apologize and wish you luck on the sale. If the bottom end has been converted for the Polaris cylinder then converting it back to a 250r top end is not possible. Please pull the cylinder and get pics of the bottom end stud location. Please post the numbers off the CDI sticker so members can see if the coil is available.
